| Claudine, the band's highly-regarded song-writer, was a founder member, along with Triona Ni Dhomnaill (ex-Bothy Band) of the sensational 'Touchstone'. Claudine developed her driving banjo style with tuition from Charlie Piggot when living in Ireland. She joined Gypsy Reel in 1988 to record for Canadian national radio at the Lunenberg festival in Nova Scotia. The Boston Globe says: 'Claudine can really cook on mandolin and especially on flat picked tenor banjo, and her lead and harmony vocals were a highlight.' |

Jon Scaife
| String player Jon Scaife first joined up with Graham to record with 'Bodger's Mate'. His amazing guitar accompaniments have had audiences gasping in Britain and the USA. Renowned principally for his guitar style he also plays fiddle, cittern and bass. His work with Gypsy Reel gives full expression to his subtle and unique accompaniments. His original style is a fusion of influences derived from the traditions of Britain, Ireland and North America with hints of his experiences as a jazz bassist and dance band fiddle player. |
